Official Elders Statement

The elders of Colonial Church have issued the following statement regarding Doug Marchand.

Colonial Church Elders Affirm the Transformed Life and Ongoing Ministry of Doug Marchand

[Wichita Falls, TX] - [February 19, 2026]

The elders of Colonial Church issue this statement to publicly affirm their wholehearted support for fellow elder and ministry leader Doug Marchand, whose life stands as a compelling testimony to the transforming power of faith in Jesus Christ.

Over the past several years, the elders of Colonial Church have had the privilege of worshiping,
serving, and leading alongside Doug. Through consistent character, humility, and sacrificial service,
Doug has demonstrated a genuine and lasting transformation that reflects deep repentance, spiritual
maturity, and an unwavering commitment to love and serve others.

Doug’s journey has included significant hardship, which he does not deny or minimize. Instead, those
experiences have shaped a life marked by dependence on God and a clear sense of calling. Doug
openly acknowledges that his life belongs to the Lord, and he lives out that conviction daily through
tangible acts of service rather than words alone.

Within Colonial Church, Doug serves faithfully as an elder, offering prayer, wisdom, accountability,
and encouragement to individuals and families across all stages of life. He is dependable,
compassionate, and deeply trusted. His leadership reflects integrity, generosity, and servant-
heartedness, and he consistently gives of his time, energy, and personal resources without seeking
recognition or personal gain.

Doug’s commitment to service extends well beyond the church walls. He has long been an advocate,
volunteer, and supporter of Kairos Prison Ministry, where he ministers to incarcerated men and their
families, many of whom are walking paths similar to the one he once walked. His mentorship is
rooted in lived experience, accountability, and hope grounded in the Gospel. Through this work,
Doug actively promotes responsibility, faith, and positive life choices, contributing to reduced repeat
offenses and restored lives.

In addition, Doug and his wife, Gina, have faithfully led a Colonial Life Group for many years,
welcoming people from all walks of life. This group regularly engages in hands-on service to those
on the margins of society, including individuals affected by substance abuse, homelessness,
domestic hardship, and reentry after incarceration. Doug frequently leads these efforts personally, by
organizing, serving, and often providing financial support, to ensure that both spiritual
encouragement and practical needs are met.

Beyond formal ministry settings, Doug quietly extends grace in ways that often go unseen. Through
his construction business, he has offered employment and second chances to individuals others are
unwilling to help, consistently stepping in with compassion and generosity without expectation of
recognition.

Today, Doug’s life is marked by stability, accountability, and purposeful service. He maintains a strong
support network within the church, remains consistently engaged in faith-based ministry, and
demonstrates the character and discipline of someone committed to being a constructive, law-
abiding member of society. His transformation is real, ongoing, and evident to all who know him.
The elders of Colonial Church are deeply grateful for Doug and for the way God continues to use
him to bless both the church and the broader community. Doug and his wife, Gina, model a life of
faithful service that is greatly needed in today’s world. The elders offer this statement with full
confidence in Doug’s character and with unwavering support for his continued mission.
